Carl P. McKnight, Psy.D.
Dr.
McKnight is a licensed clinical psychologist and works for the
County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health (DMH). He was born
in Bojota, Columbia and lived for the first eighty years of his life
in South America. He received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in
Psychology from Texas A&M University, a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree
in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Doctor
of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine
University. He completed pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships
in Clinical Child and Pediatric Psychology at Children’s Hospital of
Los Angeles (CHLA) and the University of Southern California (USC)
School of Medicine. Before joining DMH in July of 2006, he worked
for five years at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) as a
Pediatric Psychologist. While at CHOC, he also spent two years at
the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Medical Center developing
a pilot psychological assessment and treatment program for pediatric
obesity. Currently, he works for the Specialized Foster Care Mental
Health Services program at DMH. Dr. McKnight is also listed in the
current editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the
World, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s
Who Among Emerging Leaders.
